A Question About Chinese Mega-Divas, Wei Wei and Faye Wong?
OK, I finally got a chance to hear the Mandarin version of "Follow Your Dream," including the absolutely breath-taking final note in the song. This was the theme for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. As I understand it, and I may be totally mistaken, Wei Wei was not chosen to sing the song live at the opening ceremonies. If this is true, and many of her fans tell me that it is true, why wasn't she given the honor of performing at the opening? I know that she is also a very ardent Chinese nationalist, very proud of China...but I also know that she is originally from Mongolia. And, of course, she was married to an American and lived in Atlanta, Georgia for many years. Was she not allowed to sing because of her Mongolian heritage or some other political issue? ...or were there other factors. ...and, please consider me the newest fan of this absolutely astounding vocalist. It is also my understanding that Faye Wong is NOT permitted to sing the song "In The Name Of False Love" in Mandarin...and performs the song only in Cantonese for HK, Taiwanese, and Japanese audiences. I am wondering if this is true...and if so, why? I have been told that the song makes some reference to Opium, but I don't know that is true. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

Camel spider urban legends ? ARACHNOPHOBICS READ THIS !!!?
I hear the camel spider runs 30 kmph and are huge and scream while they run after their human victim and they also say they jump onto your legs i hope this isnt true because i live in middle east (they are also in india, West north america, mexico, mongolia.) i also read in wikipedia that this isnt true they only run 16kmph (still effing fast) only 6 inchis big (still effing big) and it says they dont jump so can someone tell me wtf are the rumors true or not ? i dont know who to believe can someone also tell me whats the biggest spider in the world

Camel spiders are the biggest spiders in the world. The rumors are not true, just something to scare people.

don't believe all the BS about camel spiders. they are not that big (3 inches),the only reason they would follow you is for the shade. they are not poisonous,only one species is suspected of even producing venom. although they can be rather quick,they can easily be out run. these are also called sun spiders.basically these are harmless. they can however deliver a rather painful bite. a much larger spider, is the goliath bird eater,and the cambodian huntsman. both harmless to humans. largest spider. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goliath_birdeater http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camel_Spider the wiki info is quite accurate.

do you know about Kalmyk peoples, its an asian peoples,living at the south of russia?
I just wonder if u know this peoples...They r only buddhist peoples in the whole Europe. Their roots comes from Mongolia. "They r only buddhist peoples in the whole Europe." I have a Buddhist temple about 5 minutes away from me and I live in England. You've just found pictures off the internet and exclaimed that they're from Kalmyk, although some of them are pretty I wouldn't say that they're different to the diverse amount of people you find living in London.

Certainly , I know, every Russian person knows them. I can distinguish any nation of Russia. @the Fyromian dude , they are very unlike Chechenian people:Chechenians look like Turkish and Kalmyks look like Chineses. Also Kalmyk women seat with their men at the same table during the dinner and Chechenyan women NEVER seat with men at the table,their religion(Islam) doesn`t allow it. Also, Kalmyk women have modern hair style and most of Chechenian women cover their heads by showls.

Am I more of a city or country person? Explain

Am I more of a city or country person? Explain...?
(I know I've asked this, I just want more answers) I live in rural Kentucky. I'm in college and live w/ my parents in my hometown and just can't afford to move now. My neighbors are mostly rednecks. I've lived in two cities, Louisville and Cincinnati, only to come back to "Hicksville" by fate. As for me, I... 1. have a little of the annoying KY accent...only a little! 2. don't drive slow on the road, ever. 'Nuff said... 3. love art museums sometimes 4. know all the good nightclubs, ethnic restaurants, parks, and "date places" in Louisville. 5. hate tractor pulls and country music 6. am annoyed when people in a small town whine about their traffic; I'm used to backups. 7. enjoy getting to know girls from Atlanta to California, Texas to Fiji, India to Latvia. 8. enjoy live music--jazz, rock, piano, dance, etc. 9. went to a party this weekend in Louisville where there were people from India, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Turkey, & Fiji. 10. am moving to TX soon, THANK GOD! TX cities I'm considering: Ft. Worth, San Antonio, Houston

You're a city guy. When you move to Texas, stay away from the gulf area. You don't need hurricanes to be part of your life style. Two of my friends moved to Texasin the upper middle part where it's very green and pretty. Don't sell yourself short. I love a soft Southern accent. Always be kind to your parents, and never forget them.
