I want advise on Family Matters, i have a half sister and its about her, and our relations, thanks

I want advise on Family Matters, i have a half sister and its about her, and our relations, thanks?
I am of Japanese British blood, but i have a sister who is of Taiwanese British blood. My dad divorced my mum 11 years ago, my mum being Japanese. And then my dad married a Taiwanese woman, and they had a baby 4 years ago, and now she is 4 years old. I speak Japanese and English, and some Chinese. My sister speaks Chinese and is studying English now. My sister lives in Taiwan, and i used to live in Tokyo, now im going to be boarding in a school in England, Kent. Yeah i know its all complicated right? I also have a 30 year old brother, and me, my sister and my brother all have the same father but a different mother. My brother is of same descent, Japanese British and my dad cares nothing about him, because my dad didn't even marry the mum of my brother. I now have one step mum who is Taiwanese, and i meet her sometimes in the Summer holidays. My mum and dad had many court cases when i was a young kid and that gave me stress all the time, thinking that i cant meet my dad and my dad always giving pressure to her. This Summer, i am doing this trip with my dad on the Trans Siberian Railway, which goes from Tokyo, Beijing, Mongolia, Moscow etc and ends me up in London, its a 4 week thing. But suddenly the company tells my dad that he has to sign the bank loans and come back to Tokyo as soon after the first week we arrive in London. So basically the whole plan of meeting my step mum and half sister and my step mums all ruined, and delayed. I just feel like i wait and wait for things to happen but it never happens?? i am just annoyed that things are being delayed and not going to as planned. Please give me some advise on family relations & how i should deal with summer plans too, and how i should interact with my sister! thanks a bunch!

maybe you should ask people at your fathers job not to ruin your plans
2 :
Sorry, but you have no control over your father's employers. Talk with your father, maybe you can postpone the visit with your sister until later this year? The TransSiberian rail road will still be there next summer. Take care

Do you love America, and are you proud of it

Do you love America, and are you proud of it?
They say they don't like our attitudes, well why is culture copied globally. They don't like our aggressiveness, and yet when we start a fight...we can snap our fingers and all the FREE WORLD will follow us in to battle basically no questions asked. Somebody has to lead, and look at us...the greatest people on the earth. Who else could lead the world? Bulgaria, France, Mongolia? No other nation ha that glow about them like us, in my opinion. No we are not perfect, but were closer to being there than everyone else...Fact! If you don't believe me go live abroad...you might be disappointed. So tell why you think America is great... Name a better place to live...I gaurentee that you can only name somewhere like switzerland...which is a craphole because you have to uber-wealthy to go their. The question is so beyond answering, there is nowhere to compare us to, I still have never heard of an american giving up citizenship and going somewhere else. The only place thats close is canada, but its always easy living in a giants shadow, thats why the swiss are so successful, small defense spending. hey get to concentrate on almost purely economic matters.. To the idiot who is gonna say canada sent troops...ill say screw nato as whole they sent a handful of nothing, and theyve done nothing...aside from the UK. America is ok but. "We can snap our fingers and all the FREE WORLD will follow us in to battle" = Clearly not true, just look at Iraq, the rest of the world thought America was the bad guys "why is culture copied globally" = Its not, apart from Microsoft, Mc Donald's and a few Hollywood movies America doesn't have that much of an influence on other cultures.
2 :
yes I certainly do love my country American, my father was in D-Day, in World War Two, I agree with you, and God Bless American!
3 :
A little full of yourself aren't you? I don't believe we are close to perfect, nor can we "snap" our fingers and get others to follow, remember, Dub had a hard time getting many countries to support us in Irock? A lot of people who live in Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany and others, are very happy and satisfied with their lives. Oh, they also enjoy their universal healthcare. I fly an American flag at my home everyday. I buy American made products whenever I can. I pay my taxes. I support our current prez in most of the things he has tried to accomplish so far. I support our military men and women for doing what they are ordered to do very well. I support people's right to disagree with me or others. I believe in helping your neighbors and others.
4 :
I love this country, to me she has no sins.
5 :
I don't agree with your statement about snapping our fingers and getting the rest of the world to follow us. In a few instances that has been the case, but in others it hasn't. In any case, that doesn't prove anything other than that we hold a lot of sway. I think what makes America great is our tradition of openness and toleration, a tradition that has been expanded over the years to include more and more people as we have worked to reflect on and correct our past mistakes. Our country is certainly not without flaws, but we really are a melting pot in which people of all backgrounds are proud to call themselves Americans and enjoy a standard of life (not just economic) and liberty not found elsewhere. We are a great nation, flaws and all.
6 :
I love America because I was born here, lived here all my life, and therefore have nothing to compare it to. She is far from perfect, in fact, needs much improvement. Do I like the direction this country has taken over the past two decades? No. I would like to see a reversal in many areas. I would like to see a focus on increasing family time and on raising children to live as free individuals in a democracy, rather than ruled by the corporate elite.
7 :
The United States of America is the Greatest Nation that has ever been on this Earth, but only when they Put God First, Then the Nation will prosper again to its fullness. Now if the Un-Godly Immoral Perverted riff raff in the white house, the Senate, and Congress were removed or that they would Repent of the SINS they have committed while in power, this Nation would Once again Rise to Greatness it was in the Beginning.

why do we see ourselves as separate from our environment

why do we see ourselves as separate from our environment?
You probably wouldn't consider the room you're in right now as part of 'you', but in some fundamental ways, it really is. The air you're breathing for instance, that turns into 'you'. The food you eat, likewise, evolves into 'you' and originates from the place you happen to be situated in. So in a physical sense, you literally are where you live. Psychologically too, it's hard to say where the environment ends and where you as an individual begin. We're all continually impacted all the time by where we are, and who we claim to be at any one moment varies from context to context, from one set of physical, social, and psychological surroundings to the next. Who I am at home is not who I am at work; who you would've been growing up in the deserts of Mongolia is different to who you would be as a teenager in New York. In fact the personality you have is most likely a unique combination of every single person's personality whom you've ever come into contact with throughout the entirety of your life. It didn't originate spontaneously from nowhere, it was driven by complex forces of social, cultural, and genetic conformity. My point in all this is that, if even a quick look at the self in the context of an environment such as this reveals an immediate link between an individual and their physical surroundings, then why do people in general see themselves as outside it? Is it because our environment is constantly changing? Is it because we ourselves can initiate that change, and thereby create the illusion that we're somehow not of it, that we have more control of how it affects us than is really the case? Would love to hear your thoughts- thanks for reading.

I totally agree, we are a part of our environment, however do not consider our environment part of us. I believe that if we began looking from that perspective, we will appreciate more and be a little more considerate about how we treat this earth that we are leaving for our offspring to inherit.
2 :
It partly has to do with suffering and the subjective experience of pleasure and pain which is attached to a particular body. The external world acts upon this body and the body/mind reacts. This set of set reactions we come to know as the ego, personalities are formed and thus the illusion of duality is established: me as opposed to them or that -- mostly as a protective mechanism against suffering, the instinctive quest to avoid subjective pain by seeking pleasure.
3 :
Because we have transcended it.

HELP! WHAT DO I SAY TO THIS RETARD

HELP! WHAT DO I SAY TO THIS RETARD?
I'm sick and arguing with ignorant idiots online. Don't tell me to give up and do something else because these people are so dumb... I just can't walk away... Retard 1: Well, obviously America is better than any other country. Me: I'm American but I'm not like "AMERICA is true civilization and people in Egypt live in tents! So America PWNS!!" like some ignorant retards. Retard 2: There's no doubt that America was/is the best country. Maybe not now, but 20 ish years ago, when we had good presidents? Yeah, we were the best. Me: Uh, dude... First, what facts/statistics are you using to judge that America is the best? Retard 2: The fact that ANYONE ANYWHERE can bust their ass and rise up and get rich. Our country is/was the best because the government would leave you to your earnings. Because they didn't try to regulate how you run your business, because they were smart. The fact that you have the freedom to do whatever you wish, so long as it wasn't harming anyone. If you wanted to eat 40 gallons of ice cream, go for it! If you wanted to become a doctor, go for it! If you wanted to print a legitimate, anti-government article, go for it! (as long as it's factual) Where else? Me: So yeah, America is a democratic country along with: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Benin, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Cape Verde, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jamaica, Kiribati, Latvia, Lesotha, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mali, Malta, Mexico, Micronesia, Mongolia, Namibia, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Palau, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Thailand, Taiwan, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Uruguay But that alone is not a basis to say that America is the best country. That is naive and ignorant. Retard 2: Do they have unalienable rights? All of them? Do they have the assurance that their government can't take away some rights? Do they? No. Our Constitution is the greatest thing ever. It grants us rights and limits our government. Also, our economic policy (now leaning towards socialistic) plays a big part. It should be capitalistic. ________________________________________________________ So what do I say??

Honestly, American pride cannot be battled with. I personally take your thoughts on America is not the best. I will say what everyone else has probably told you-- ignore them. Yeah, it's irritable; but what's the point in arguing. Assuming you don't know the persons age, they could be some dumb kid who fell asleep during World History class because they thought it was boring. Is America greater then Austria or Germany? Who have some of the best economies at this moment in time. Honestly, if you really need to vent on the stupidity, share with someone who holds your views or type it all out what you'd say to them.
5 :
America seems to be selfish. Who gave America the right to judge, comment, and show concern about other countries government and economy? Also, all the food thrown away in America at home and in restaurants in a year is enough to feed a poor country for a year. The American economy is doing too well either, while several other countries around the world have a booming economy and are developing great business, such as China, Japan, Korea, and Indonesia.
6 :
australia is better than america
7 :
Yes. You can say that we (Portugal at least) have unalienable rights, the first of all is the right to live. There are no death penalty, because ultimately, life is not something that a state and its laws can take. I think that will be enough. If not, say him we also have unalienable right to access to culture, health and education (something that in USA is not quite true if someone do not have money to pay for that). Take care...
8 :
In America, the masses are poor, and uneducated compared to the rich ruling class, that governs the media, economy, and politicians. Capitalism is supported by the rich, because they profit from a free market, you don't , you're just the slave that works for the rich master all your insignificant life.
9 :
Drop the H bomb, H for Hunger! America is pretty much the only western (here counting US, Canada, Western Europe and Scandinavia) with actual hunger because the social system there is so flawed that 17.3 million people live in house holds where it is common that one or more person can go a day without food because they do not have enough money to buy food for everyone in the household. Ones level of civilization is not just how much freedom you have, but how you treat those worst off in your society. Or you could ask why the rights does not count as long as the government says terrorist...
10 :
americans are greedy and selfish they will do anything to win.. honestly i wouldnt fight over this
11 :
In USA, more than 34 million people is living under the povery line.¹ ¹ Numbers according to BEEGHLEY, Leonard. (2004). The Structure of Social Stratification in the United States. Boston, MA. Life expectancy rate in Cuba and USA is the same. However, the infant mortality rate in USA is bigger. In Cuba it is 7, in the United States it is 8. ² ² Numbers according to World Health Organization Presidential elections in USA always was a big lie. There are no choices for Americans, there are only two identical political parties running. It's not a real democracy. The real democratic system is the Brazilian one as it is today. The American press (and all media) is a sheep. There is no real freedom of speech. American press hides facts about war, povery in USA, drugs, hunger and violence in USA and more. The jews and the "mafia" controls all media (TV news, movies, press etc). They show things to make American people blind and not make questions about government and economic system. Some American states have the right to kill. There is also torture in American military prisons. USA had racist laws until the 60's. Until today, prejudice is still strong in USA. USA droped two nuclear bombs in Japanese civilian areas. The bombs destroyed completly two Japanese cities. Isn't that terrorism? It is worst than terrorism, it is a crime against humanity! USA governement spends money with weapons, but nothing with food and health. American diplomacy is awful. USA invade other countries against the free will of citizians and against UN. As we can see, USA is the most violent Nation of the world. American TV (and some American movies) are just for retards. It's the country where people don't like to read. American literature is not as rich as the British, French, Russian, Italian, Cuban, Brazilian, Argentine, Peruvian, Portuguese, Spanish, Greek, Arab, Indian, Chinese.... America has Edgar Allan Poe, nothing more. Compare with those countries. Sure, I'm talking about good literature. USA is the country of the junkie food, obeses and poor quality of life. Usually (not always) Americans are ignorant and "blind". They believe in all things the American government tell them to believe and do all things the government tell them to do. Land of freedom? Don't make me laught. Americans have freedom till governement label someone "terrorist". Even at the past, USA never had freedom. Americans think "freedom" is buying everything they want. For that you need money, and not all American have it. Money is not freedom. Freedom is doing and saying everything you want. In USA, only the rich class has that right. US military forces are very weak. Yes, they have good weapons, but trainning and strategies are awful. USA lost Vietnam war. And who free Germany from the Nazis? Actually, it was USSR (UK and USA helped). War in Afghanistan is still running. USA won in Iraq with help of Italy, Canada, Japan, South Korea, England and others (USA was not alone). American movies about war are always lying. Compare USA quality of life with Nations like Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland... They are much better, USA is far away from their quality of life, health, education and security. If you compare numbers, even Cuba offers more quality of life for its citizians than USA. All cuban is well educated, work (not hard work), eat good food and use good medications when they need. Cuba has one of best health systems of the world. And all Cubans are free to have a religion or do what they want to do. In Cuba, Europe and some South America Nations the heath, culture and education is totally free for all citizians. It means you don't have to pay for a University or a medical emergency. In addition, the quality is better than in USA. Furthermore, tell them to watch an excellent movie called "Sicko" by Michael Moore.

You should not even waste your time with retarded people like that.
